About this Dental Salary report and Available job position data, breakdown of our data & method we pull our job and salary stats straight from big-name job sites. We extract data manually. Want to know how we come up with our numbers?
Here’s the scoop:
Job Numbers: We find out how many job openings there are by looking at ads for a job. This includes part-time, full-time, and temp jobs. We look at the number of jobs on the first search page and calculate at the total from there.
Wage Math: We look at what job ads say about salary. We only look at the first 15 job ads to figure out an average. All pay setups are included (hourly, day rate, and yearly). We turn them all into a standard yearly wage to compare.
When Jobs Don’t Talk Money: Some ads don’t tell what the salary is. When that happens, we leave out that data for our math.
Salary Spans: If a job ad lists a salary range (like $100,000 to $200,000), we use the midpoint (like $150,000) for our math. If a job has a big day rate range (like $1,000+), we guess at a middle range from regular pay rates in that field (like $1,400).
Limits & Things to Think About We do our best to give accurate averages. But, job markets change: Specialist Spots: Jobs that need special skills might pay more. But if there aren’t a lot of positions (like 1-2 a month), they don’t show up that much in our job numbers.
Weekly Hours: Companies have different standard workweeks (32, 36, 38, or 40 hours). We base our math on a 40-hour week. But, that doesn’t fit every job.
Market Ups and Downs: Job sites may not list all job openings. Wages can change, too. We know these issues are there. We always work to make our method better and give you the best data possible.
